Why Electrical Engineering Technology?

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology in Electrical Engineering Technology provides students with the opportunity to develop strengths in the design, implementation, integration, analysis, testing, and support of electronic circuits and electrical systems that are critical to the achievement of enterprise, project, research, and business goals.

This focused bachelor's degree includes courses in mathematics, physics, electric circuit theory, analog and digital circuits and systems, power circuits and systems, and electric circuit and system analysis. Specializations are available in Electrical Power Technology, Embedded System Technology, and Mobile and Web Communication Technology.

Program Objectives

The objective of the Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) Program at Northeastern University is to prepare graduates with the skills necessary to enter careers in the design, analysis, construction, testing, operation, and maintenance of electrical and electronic circuits and systems. The course of study enables our graduates, within a few years of graduation, to secure a successful engineering career and contribute decisively to the application, improvement, and development of technology by demonstrating their ability to:

  • Address and solve complex and broadly defined engineering problems related to their discipline and field of specialization
  • Work as team members, show leadership, and communicate technical concepts and ideas effectively
  • Manifest a high level of professional integrity, and make ethical decisions that will have a positive impact on the organization and society
  • Embrace and practice lifelong learning, continue personal growth, and professional self-improvement

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology in Electrical Engineering Technology graduates design, analyze, construct, deploy, maintain, and test electric and electronic circuits and systems for companies of all sizes and disciplines. Core and foundation courses allow students the opportunity to think critically and gain insights into disciplines other than their particular field of study. Requirements include learning the use of traditional and emerging techniques and technologies to accomplish tasks effectively and using appropriate mathematical, physics, and computing techniques and concepts to obtain solutions to problems.
