Meet Your New Advisor: Rupy Mundi

A very warm welcome from the Digital Communications and Media program
If you’re a student in our Digital Communications and Media program at Northeastern, you have a new advisor, and she’s already excited to meet you.
Rupy Mundi joins Northeastern as an academic advisor serving students across our program and also the Psychology and Project Management undergraduate programs, wherever you’re located. Based at the Toronto campus, Rupy works with Northeastern students university-wide, so no matter where you’re studying from, she’s your person.
Rupy brings over six years of experience in higher education, with the past four years spent at Northeastern University supporting graduate students, most recently advising students in the Project Management program. Prior to joining Northeastern, she worked at Sheridan College as a co‑op advisor, where she supported students in preparing for real‑world work environments and career transitions. She now brings this combined background in academic advising, enrollment management, and student support to her work with undergraduate students. Rupy holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, further grounding her practice in student success and academic operations.
Born and raised in Toronto, Rupy has deep roots in her community and a student-centered, equity-minded approach to advising, focused on making sure every student has what they need to move forward, regardless of where they’re starting from.
What to Expect From Rupy

Rupy’s goal is straightforward: close communication gaps, track student progress, and make sure no one reaches their final semester in a panic.
“I just want to be an advocate for our students in this special time in their lives,” she says. “I want to be there to help them.”
That means staying closely connected with program leads and students alike, keeping an eye on requirements and academic plans, and making sure students feel supported not just on paper, but in practice.
“I’m here to be an advocate for your success,” Rupy says. “I can’t wait to see you progress , not just as students, but as humans. I want to be part of your journey.”
Her Advice as You Head Into the New Semester

Rupy’s number one tip? Communicate early and often. Review your plan, check your schedule, and reach out whenever something feels unclear.
“There’s no such thing as a silly question,” she says. “It’s never a bad idea to check in just to make sure you’re on track.” And if you ever find yourself tangled up in what she calls “the digital spaghetti,” she wants you to know she’s just an email away.
When she’s not advising, Rupy loves spending time outdoors and with her family. She’s also the proud parent of a two-year-old who keeps her very much on her toes.
