Bio:

For close to 20 years, my professional career has been spent within professional and higher education organizations in positions of development and leadership. During the day and away from NEU, I am the Senior Director of Digital Communications at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. With a blended background of information systems management and marketing communications, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to also share my knowledge through courses in both information technology and communications since 2006 providing me with numerous positive experiences from both undergraduate and graduate students.

Away from the classroom, my other professional interests center on cybersecurity, eLearning, open source, digital storytelling, and experiential learning techniques. My numerous connections in higher education have provided me the opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars promoting best practices for dealing with cyber-threats that may or may not be aware their companies are vulnerable against.

I am a lifelong Rhode Islander; my wife and two sons live on Jamestown, an island between Providence and Newport. I hold a Master's of Science in Information Systems from Salve Regina University and a Bachelor's of Arts in Communications from Roger Williams University.

For me, the role of the instructor is about facilitating the free expression of each participant’s experiences in relation to the course materials. The biggest lesson I have learned as an instructor in my time has been around accessibility. It is important for me to stress my availability to you in this class; I am always accessible within minutes outside of the classroom via email.
