CPS’s Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Joseph Griffin, Named 2026 PMI David I. Cleland Project Management Literature Award Honoree

by CPS Communications

Congratulations to Professor Joseph Griffin of Northeastern University, named a 2026 honoree of the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) David I. Cleland Project Management Literature Award. Griffin shares the honor with co-authors Professor Alejandro Romero-Torres (UQAM) and Professor Shankar Sankaran (University of Technology Sydney) for their book, Case Studies on Project Management in Practice.

The David I. Cleland Award is one of PMI’s flagship academic honors, recognizing a published book that makes a significant contribution to advancing project management knowledge, concepts, and practice. PMI is the world’s leading professional association for project management, and its literature award has historically spotlighted works that shape how the discipline is taught and practiced globally — placing Griffin’s scholarship alongside some of the field’s most influential texts.

The recognition comes as part of the broader 2026 PMI Awards, which also honored major projects, PMOs, chapters, and researchers from around the world — underscoring that Griffin’s work was recognized among a highly selective, globally competitive field.

Griffin will be celebrated alongside this year’s honorees at the PMI Global Summit in Detroit.
