Martha Loftus

Martha Mullane Loftus’s professional focus has been the transition between secondary and postsecondary education. As Director of the Foundation Year program and an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Pathways program at the College of Professional Studies, she is dedicated to preparing students to navigate this transition effectively.

Before joining CPS, Martha worked in the Superintendent’s Office at Boston Public Schools, where she spearheaded the district’s college access and success initiatives. She holds a certification in school counseling for grades and has led numerous college access programs across Boston, in addition to holding a range of student services roles in higher education.  Martha’s work is grounded in a systems-level understanding of education — and a persistent drive to shape those systems so that students can chart a path toward their goals.
