Dr. Mamta Saxena

Senior Assistant Dean – Decision Support & Academic Quality Assessment

Dr. Saxena is the Senior Assistant Dean of Decision Support and Academic Quality Assessment at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies, where she is responsible for the leadership, vision, and operations of the data analytics unit, as well as the College’s Academic Assessment and Program Evaluation processes and reporting. In her previous role, she led the instructional design team at Southern New Hampshire University, implementing innovative strategies that supported the university’s exponential online program expansion. Her experience spans corporate and academic settings in the U.S. and India, where she has led initiatives to advance cutting-edge design and assessment strategies.

She holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction Program from Lesley University. She has also taught as a part-time faculty member at Northeastern’s Graduate School of Education. Her research interests include Micro-credentials, the role of AI in assessment and learning analytics, and human-centered approaches to data-informed decision-making.

Dr. Saxena serves as Vice President of the New England Educational Assessment Network, an evaluator for NECHE, a member of the Professional Development Committee at the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education, and a board member of the ACE Women’s Network of Massachusetts.
