Three Words to Describe Northeastern:
Transformative | Collaborative | Empowering
Getting a degree while life is happening isn’t always easy. How have you faced and overcome some of these challenges?
As an international student, one of my biggest challenges was adapting to a new academic and cultural environment while balancing coursework, professional growth, and leadership roles. I overcame this by actively engaging in student communities with GLS and the school resource, leveraging networking opportunities, and seeking mentorship from faculty and peers. The support system at Northeastern, particularly at The Roux Institute, especially the learner service, played a crucial role in making this transition smoother even with Roux student housing.

What inspired you to join the Northeastern community?
I was drawn to the Roux Institute – Northeastern because of its experiential learning approach, strong industry connections, and commitment to innovation. Since joining, I have had the opportunity to work on impactful data-driven projects, build meaningful relationships with students and faculty, and take on leadership roles, including serving as a Student Ambassador. The biggest challenge has been balancing academic rigor with professional and extracurricular commitments, but this has also strengthened my time management and problem-solving skills.
What has your journey at Northeastern revealed to you about yourself?
My time at the Roux Institute – Northeastern has reinforced my ability to adapt, lead, and build strong connections. It has shown me the importance of combining technical skills with interpersonal relationships and networking to create meaningful impact. The most valuable lesson I have learned is the power of networking and relationship-building alongside technical expertise. This experience has prepared me for future career opportunities by equipping me with both the analytical skills and the interpersonal skills needed to thrive in a data-driven world.
I am deeply grateful for the support of the Northeastern Roux Institute communities and the Learners Service at the Roux, as well as the Alfond Foundation, for making this journey possible.

What advice would you give to others considering higher education?
Take full advantage of every opportunity beyond the classroom for networking, mentorship, leadership roles, and research projects. Higher education is not just about gaining knowledge but also about developing skills that prepare you for real-world challenges, and that is what Northeastern University provides irrespective of the global campus.Be prepared to put and sell yourself out there. Have in mind you just have seven (7) seconds to get the attention of someone.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself as a data analytics leader working at the intersection of business and technology, leveraging data to drive innovation in industries such as finance, healthcare, or education. I also hope to mentor and support aspiring data professionals, just as I have been supported.
What are some of your hobbies and passions?
I enjoy playing soccer, engaging in community-building initiatives, and exploring new places. I also find joy in mentoring others and fostering connections among people from diverse backgrounds.
