About

James J. Gorske is the Executive Director/CEO of AdCare Educational Institute, Inc., a non-profit organization specializing in training continuing education and workforce development throughout Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont in the areas of substance abuse, mental health and public health.  Mr. Gorske has over 38 years in the nonprofit field.  During his tenure of 30 years with AdCare, the organization has planned and implemented over 15,000 training events ranging from 20 person, one-day seminars, to multi-day events for up to 2,000 individuals.  

He has been the President of the Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification (MBSACC) and the Regional President of Massachusetts Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (MAADAC.)  Board Member and Vice President of Finance for the New England Chapter of Meeting Professionals International.  

Mr. Gorske is a private consultant and has provided training, consultation, and technical assistance to various state and private organizations throughout New England in instructional systems design and workforce development. He has been the guest lecturer at several regional conferences and has conducted numerous day-long and multi-day workshops.  Mr. Gorske has a BS in Psychology and Masters in Business Administration (MBA).  He has been a licensed social worker in Massachusetts.  

Mr. Gorske started teaching at Northeastern in 2001.  He is a certified on-line instructor and has taught live, hybrid and online courses in: Program Design, Budgeting, Strategic Management of Nonprofit Organizations, Promotion of Nonprofit Organizations, and Capstone for the Nonprofit Management program.
