The Pulse: October 2025
Message From The Dean
Autumn is in the air. The crunch of dried leaves beneath our feet as we wander across one of the many Northeastern campuses or our own neighborhood always brings a sense of comfort. As one season ends, another begins and with the fall term now in full swing, I’m eager to see what this new season brings. Some recent and emerging highlights:
- We kicked off our first cohort of Huskies for Life — a new mentorship program that connects CPS learners with leaders in industries around the world for 1:1 mentorship and leadership learning over the course of the year.
- We just launched a new AI in Regulatory Sciences professional badge to advance current students and leaders in the regulatory affairs space with critical AI skills needed in the workplace.
- In response to demand for our highly successful inaugural AI Badge for Professional Practice, we launched a new series in September — registration is still open!
- We are thrilled to announce the second year of our PathmakerBio program. No prior college credit required for this grant-funded no-cost biotech training program held at our Burlington campus. If you know someone who may benefit from this skills-based training program, please pass it on!
- There are several networking opportunities available in the Boston area this month for both students and faculty, along with a number of upcoming online sessions with our co-op and experiential learning team to expand your resume-building experience. More details below!
- My latest podcast is out! And now available wherever you listen to podcasts. Do you have an idea for a podcast topic? Let us know at [email protected].
As we all settle into our classwork and find that crucial if sometimes elusive work-life balance, know that we continue to invest in opportunities to grow and learn together. There is no shortage of opportunities to get out of our comfort zones and try something new. It’s only when we allow ourselves to be a little uncomfortable that true growth and learning happen.
You got this!

Upcoming Events & Opportunities

AI for Regulatory Sciences for Human Therapeutics

Designed for seasoned professionals and those early in their career eager to build expertise at the intersection of AI, life sciences, technology, and regulatory sciences, the course comprises six modules, ranging from an introduction to AI and regulatory sciences to its applications in drug discovery, drug development, manufacturing, and regulatory enabling functions, as well as identifying career paths in the evolving AI-enabled ecosystem for human therapeutics.
Participants will earn a Northeastern University Level 1 digital badge, with the option to achieve a Level 2 badge by completing a capstone project.

Spotlight: MLB at CPS
Developing professional baseball players on and off the field
October brings post-season baseball and with that an opportunity to spotlight our amazing partnership with Major League Baseball at the College of Professional Studies.
In June 2017, Major League Baseball (MLB) named Northeastern its preferred education provider. Through the partnership, players gain access to educational opportunities during and after their baseball career that equip them with the competitive advantage they need to succeed on and off the field.
Players can work toward their bachelor’s degree through online and in-person instruction in growing fields, such as information technology, health sciences, business, and finance. Throughout their learning journey, they work one-on-one with a career and academic coach who helps players register for classes and create academic, degree, and career plans tailored to their personal and professional goals.
