Semester Conversion Announcement
The College of Professional Studies is excited to announce that beginning Fall 2026, all graduate programs, graduate certificates, and doctoral degrees will transition to a semester-based academic calendar. The shift to a semester-based academic calendar will bring significant benefits, including enhanced curriculum partnerships with other Northeastern colleges and campuses, streamlined administrative processes, and expanded co-op and experiential opportunities for our students. Our goal remains the same: to align our programs more closely with the Northeastern Academic Plan while maintaining the highest academic excellence and student success standards.
We want to assure you that this change will not impact your academic progress or delay your path to graduation, nor will the conversion to a semester calendar impact the total tuition of the program. Students who follow their semester plan and complete all requirements for their enrolled major and concentration will not face any additional program costs, aside from standard annual tuition and fee increases. However, students who change their major or concentration after receiving their semester plan may incur extra program costs due to additional requirements associated with their new major or concentration.
Students who complete their program by August 2026 (Summer term) will not require a transition plan from quarters to semesters. However, if a student extends their studies beyond August 2026, they need to contact their academic advisor to discuss a transition plan from quarters to semesters.
If you have any immediate questions, please feel free to reach out to our enrollment team at [email protected] and domestic inquiries [email protected].
We look forward to welcoming you to our program and providing you with an exceptional educational experience.
