Former Ambassador, native of Kyrgyzstan and Master’s in Global Studies and International Affairs faculty member, Baktybek Beshimov, recently co-authored an article in The Diplomat on whether Kyrgyzstan is the next Ukraine. Beshimov also recently co-authored an opinion piece in Al Jazeera on Russia vs. China’s struggle for Central Asia .
Beshimov has a unique understanding of the politics of Southwest Asia having served as a member of Parliament in his native Kyrgyzstan for five years. He also served as the Kyrgyz Ambassador to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal for five years, among many other assignments and accomplishments.
