Three Words to Describe Northeastern:
Courage | Focus | Perseverance
Getting a degree while life is happening isn’t always easy. How have you faced and overcome some of these challenges?
Balancing a fast-paced career as a Senior Financial Administrator in Investment Management with rigorous coursework has been one of my greatest challenges. Time was limited, and expectations were high, but I stayed disciplined and focused on what mattered most. I relied on structured routines, clear priorities, and a mindset that viewed every challenge as an opportunity to grow. By staying focused on my goals and trusting my process, I not only overcame obstacles but emerged stronger and more capable of balancing complexity in all areas of my life.
“Northeastern has shown me that with determination and focus, what once felt impossible becomes achievable.”
What were some of the reasons you chose to join the Northeastern community? Since joining, what have been some of the opportunities and challenges you have experienced?
Northeastern was once a dream, and today, it is my reality. When I first applied, I wasn’t sure if I would be accepted, but I believed in my potential and took a chance. That leap of faith has transformed my journey in ways I never imagined. Recently, I had the incredible honor of being invited to the first podcast with the Dean—a moment that reminded me how far I’ve come. It reaffirmed that limits are not fixed; they exist only where we choose to place them. Northeastern has shown me that with determination and focus, what once felt impossible becomes achievable.
What has your journey at Northeastern University revealed to you about yourself?
This journey has revealed my ability to adapt, persevere, and thrive in the face of challenges. It has shown me the strength that comes from balancing ambition with determination and the importance of staying true to my vision. More than anything, it has reaffirmed my belief in continuous growth—every challenge I’ve faced has brought me closer to the person I strive to be.
What advice do you have for others considering higher education as a student, faculty or staff?
Start before you’re ready, and trust that you’ll grow into the person who can handle the challenges ahead. Higher education is a chance to expand your skills, redefine your limits, and create a future that reflects your potential. Be consistent, stay curious, and lean into the discomfort of growth. Surround yourself with people who push you to be better and never underestimate the value of the experiences you’ll gain outside of the classroom.
“In five years, I see myself thriving in a senior leadership role in the finance industry, driving meaningful change and inspiring others to reach their potential. I also hope to continue growing personally and professionally, pushing boundaries, and mentoring others as they navigate their own journeys.”
Where do you imagine yourself five years from now?
In five years, I see myself thriving in a senior leadership role in the finance industry, driving meaningful change and inspiring others to reach their potential. I also hope to continue growing personally and professionally, pushing boundaries, and mentoring others as they navigate their own journeys.
What are some of your hobbies and other passions? Where do you find your joy?
I’m passionate about playing baseball, which fuels my competitive side and reminds me of the value of teamwork. Traveling is another love of mine—it allows me to embrace new cultures, gain fresh perspectives, and recharge. Visiting my family in the Dominican Republic is something I deeply cherish. Those moments reconnect me with my roots and remind me of the values and traditions that have shaped who I am today.
Coming back to Northeastern as a student after working here has been a full-circle moment—one filled with gratitude and growth. Northeastern isn’t just where I learned to lead; it’s where I discovered the power of education to transform lives, including my own. I’m proud to be part of this incredible community, and I look forward to carrying its lessons into the future.
