Biography
Dr. Mustafa teaches in the Project Management Program at Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts. He obtained a Ph.D. in Engineering from Brown University Providence, RI (2013), and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) (2004) in Project Management from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. In 2009, he was a Fellow at the Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS), School of Architecture and Planning, MIT. He also taught at Fitchburg State University, MA. Before joining the academia, he assumed several leading roles and positions in engineering consulting and project management both here in the United States and overseas where he participated in several large scale and prestigious international projects such as the Twin Towers (Petronas Towers) project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He lived and worked in several countries, these include Sudan, India and Malaysia before moving to United States in 2001. In United States, he worked with consulting firms in the Boston metropolitan area and in Chicago where he was involved in various urban infrastructure projects. He has more than 12 years industry experience. He is the author of two books of which Optimal Engineering Strategy for Sustainable Infrastructure Development (Lambert Publishers, Germany) been the latest.
