Biography
Dr. Antonio B. Boyd serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Think Tank Consulting Group, L.L.C. A national management, development, and public affairs company specializing in the education, non-profit, government, and public health sectors. Dr. Boyd also serves as a national columnist for Getting Smart, one of the leading educational media channels. Getting Smart supports innovations in learning, education, and technology. Getting Smart’s mission is to help more young people get smart & connect to the idea community.
Dr. Boyd also serves as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant with the Zenger Strategies P.E.A.C.E. Team (Promoting Equity Among Communities Effectively). The P.E.A.C.E. Team Consultants provide a unique training opportunity for various coalitions to collaborate and share knowledge, exchange ideas, and better understand racial equity to serve communities better. The main goal of the series is to help coalition members integrate racial justice concepts into their community coalition processes by introducing relevant, actionable tools and frameworks.
Dr. Boyd served as Chief of Development, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Vice President at Future of School; a leading national education intermediary focused on access to quality education. Dr. Boyd led the strategic development and implementation of the Resilient School Project and the Resilient District Prize. This Corporate Social Responsibility platform honors schools and school districts for their blended and online learning efforts during COVID 19. Dr. Boyd helped to develop the Community Based Learning Hubs, Parent Tech Training Program, and Coding Clubs during the pandemic to aid students and parents in rural and underserved communities. During Dr. Boyd’s tenure at Future of School, the organization formed national partnerships with two hundred school districts and Ed tech providers like Google for Education, Microsoft Education, Apple, STRIDE, and other community partners.
Dr. Boyd also served in various roles at HOPE worldwide Ltd. A global faith-based charity in sixty-two countries. Initially, he oversaw the programs in South Carolina. Then he was promoted to National Director of U.S. Programs, Vice President of U.S. Programs, Vice President of North American Programs, and finally Vice President, Community Service Division at HOPE worldwide. In that role, he oversaw 37,500 volunteers, 137 staff, and Chapter Directors in 157 US cities and sixteen countries, including the United States, Canada, and fourteen countries in the Caribbean. His responsibilities included volunteer services, youth services, disaster relief, government and community affairs, and fundraising.
Antonio received his Doctor of Education in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from the Northeastern University Graduate School of Education in the College of Professional Studies. He was inducted into the Huntington 100 Class of 2021 at Northeastern, an award program that honors outstanding students’ commensurate achievements with the university’s mission, ideals, values, and academic plan. His work and research focus on equity and access, experiential learning, afterschool programming, diversity and inclusion, social justice, college and career pathways, Black male mentoring, and the future workforce. Dr. Boyd teaches collaborative leadership and social justice at the Northeastern University Graduate School of Education in the College of Professional Studies.
