Biography

Professor Danielle Adkins hails from Charlotte, North Carolina. She worked for the Charlotte Checkers, the minor-league affiliate (AHL) of the Carolina Hurricanes for eight years. In September 2015, she decided to make a career change and now is a Key Account Executive with Lab Corporation, establishing relationships and increasing business in the Charlotte area.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in marketing from East Carolina University and a Master of Arts in mass communication and journalism from the University of Georgia. She is currently attending the United States Sports Academy and working toward her Doctorate in Sports Management.

Professor Adkins started working in sports while attending the University of Georgia, as a graduate assistant for the football association. This led her back to Charlotte, where she has worked for the Checkers. She was fortunate to be able to give back in the community with her position as Executive Director of the Checkers Foundation and oversaw its marketing initiatives and community related events.

She served on the board member for the GoJenGo Foundation, managing their communications and marketing outreach. She has a desire to help others who are less fortunate or going through a difficult time in their lives. Currently, she is serving as Chair, for the Kappa Delta Advisory Board, overseeing the local chapter at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte and enjoys devoting her time by serving on the Hemby Children’s Hospital Board in Charlotte.
