What motivated you to continue through challenging times?
My career aspirations and my belief in the opportunities that education creates motivated me to keep going during difficult times. Whenever I faced challenges, I reminded myself why I started this journey: to build a meaningful career in AI and create a better future for myself. Each obstacle became an opportunity to learn and grow.
What has your journey revealed to you about yourself?
My journey at Northeastern has revealed that I am more resilient and adaptable than I ever imagined. Moving from Chennai to Boston challenged me academically, professionally, and personally. Through rigorous coursework, research, and co-op experiences, I learned to embrace uncertainty, step outside my comfort zone, and grow through challenges. I discovered a passion for using AI and data-driven technologies to solve real-world problems — and gained confidence in my ability to succeed in diverse environments.
Experiential learning is a core component of a Northeastern education. Describe some of the highlights for you.
One of the highlights of my Northeastern experience has been applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects and co-op opportunities. I worked on AI and data engineering projects involving machine learning, data analytics, cloud technologies, and generative AI applications. These experiences allowed me to collaborate with professionals, solve practical business problems, and gain valuable industry insightsm while strengthening both my technical and communication skills.
Where do you imagine yourself five years from now?
Five years from now, I see myself as an AI/ML professional leading innovative projects that create meaningful impact. I imagine myself working on cutting-edge technologies, mentoring aspiring engineers, and contributing to solutions that improve people’s lives through artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making. I also aspire to continue learning and growing as both a professional and a global citizen.
As an international student, this experience helped me grow not only professionally, but personally. The friendships, challenges, and lessons I’ve gained here will continue to shape my future long after graduation.
