Scholar Spotlight: Nicholas Kapoor, EdD Student Advancing Equity and AI in Education
We’re proud to highlight Nicholas Kapoor, an EdD student at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Education, whose research explores how artificial intelligence can transform higher education. Nick’s work examines how AI can foster more equitable, authentic, and forward-thinking assessments that prepare students for meaningful participation in an AI-influenced society. Drawing on his experience as Chairman of the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, his research bridges civic education, instructional design, and democratic resilience.
As a professor and Associate Director of Fairfield University’s Center for Academic Excellence, Nick is dedicated to creating learning experiences that reflect our rapidly evolving technological and cultural landscape. He believes teaching is a civic act—and that, when used thoughtfully, AI can help educators rise to the challenges facing democracy and education alike.
