Emergency Scholarship Assistance

The majority of financial assistance for CPS students is based upon financial need. The FAFSA form collects data primarily on financial resources from two tax years ago. We recognize that a student’s financial circumstances are not always consistent from one year to the next, and that circumstances beyond a student’s control may inhibit the ability to contribute to educational expenses.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss and consider substantial changes in your or your family’s financial status since filing the FAFSA. Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, separation/divorce, loss of income, high medical and/or dental expenses (not covered by insurance), or a documented catastrophic expense.

How to Apply

If you or your family have experienced a significant change in financial circumstances and would like to be considered for emergency assistance, please complete the Emergency Scholarship Assistance Request Form. Once completing the form, you may be asked to provide supporting documentation. Depending on your particular situation, examples of such documentation may include, but are not limited to:

Please note that submitting this form does not guarantee that you will be eligible to receive additional aid.

These awards are made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of Northeastern, and awards are subject to availability of funds. Awards will be a maximum of $2,500 and are applied to billable tuition and fees only. If you believe that your circumstances may impact your federal financial aid award, you must contact Student Financial Services.

Eligibility Requirements
