About

Professor Biswas carries extensive teaching experience and industrial experience. Prior to working as an instructor, she worked in the electronic design automation industries. She learned how a large codebase is created, maintained, and debugged following best practices for high-quality software design.

Professor Biswas graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a master’s degree, which brought her in touch with very experienced professors. She chose diverse courses in the computer Science field. She conducts research with Professor Rajesh Gupta. Her thesis work taught her many skills and she brings all that knowledge and experience to her students at Northeastern.

After gaining experience in an academic research environment and industry, she developed a passion for sharing her knowledge and experience with the future generation. She was instrumental in designing the Cloud Computing course and improving other courses that she taught. The project-based approach to the courses has proved to be very successful with the youth of today and with some guidance, students have surpassed their own expectations of what they can achieve.

Professor Biswas is also pursuing a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University. Her proposal is to bring the whole student approach to academics and teaching, where students should also be given the tools to manage their stress and mental health. She has been guiding students at Northeastern to make their academic study more meaningful, relevant, and fostering creativity. Professor Biswas was also nominated for the Teaching Excellence Award in 2018 and 2019 at Northeastern University.
