About
Jay Taylor-Laird is a faculty member in the Digital Media program. His research interests include methods for using game design to develop critical thinking and collaborative skills, methods for teaching programming logic and structures to artists, and the design of entertainment to encourage positive social change. Mr. Taylor-Laird has served as script doctor for two feature-length independent films and as lead designer on several popular iPhone, iPad, and Flash games, including Game Room and Bad Apples. He also has written for several comics series, including Star Wars Tales from Dark Horse Comics, and has contributed chapters to books about Flash, After Effects, and Web design.
Previously, Mr. Taylor-Laird was the founder and creative director of Metaversal Studios, a Boston-based game design company. Prior to that, he was a lecturer in Multimedia Studies and Digital Media at Northeastern University. During that time, he co-designed the curriculum for the undergraduate and graduate Game Design concentrations.
