Lucy Bunning

Dr. Bunning teaches English language, communication and service-learning courses for international students. She conducts classroom-based research to inform curriculum design.

Biography

Dr. Lucy Bunning is an Assistant Teaching Professor in NU Global. She develops curriculum and teaches English language, communication, and service-learning courses for international students. She was a Faculty Scholar with Northeastern’s Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Her classroom-based research focuses on students’ language development during service-learning and class participation.

Dr. Bunning earned her PhD in Educational Studies, with a concentration in adult second language education, from Lesley University.

Professional Experience

Dr. Bunning has taught English for speakers of other languages in university, private, and community-based language programs in the United States, Kenya, and Rwanda. 

Professional Activities & Accomplishments

Dr. Bunning is the co-author of Curriculum Design in English Language Teaching, from TESOL Press. She has authored and co-authored several articles and chapters about strength-based approaches to developing English language and intercultural communication skills and teacher professional development.
