Marco Montes de Oca
Biography
He is a Data Scientist at Xandr (AT&T’s advertising unit) as part of the clypd team, which focuses on data-driven TV advertising. Prior to joining clypd, Marco was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware, USA. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium. He also holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional, Mexico, and a M.S. in Intelligent Systems from the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico.

Machine learning for automatic algorithm configuration, hyperparameter tuning, robot controllers, and time series forecasting.

Optimization using mathematical programming (modeling and solution using CPLEX and GLPK) and stochastic methods (Evolutionary Computation, and other methods).

He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Swarm Intelligence and Frontiers in Robotics and AI: Computational Intelligence.
