What motivated you to continue through challenging times?
What motivated me most was the unwavering support of my spouse and my long-term career goals. Pursuing my degree while managing academic demands, projects, and a career transition was not always easy, but my spouse constantly encouraged me to keep going, especially during moments of self-doubt or stress. Their belief in me, combined with my desire to build a meaningful career in data analytics and create a better future for our family, gave me the motivation and resilience to stay focused and complete my degree.
What has your journey revealed to you about yourself?
My journey at Northeastern University revealed that I am far more resilient and adaptable than I initially realized. Balancing rigorous academics, hands-on projects, internships, and a career transition taught me how to navigate uncertainty, continuously learn new skills, and confidently take on complex challenges. It also reinforced my passion for using data to solve real-world problems and create meaningful impact.
Experiential learning is a core component of a Northeastern education. Describe some of the highlights for you.
One of the biggest highlights of my Northeastern experience was the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to real-world problems through hands-on projects and experiential learning. I worked on machine learning, predictive analytics, NLP, and data engineering projects using tools such as Python, SQL, AWS, and Power BI. I also had the opportunity to work as a Graduate Assistant and complete a capstone project with a real company, where I applied analytics techniques to solve practical business challenges. These experiences helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice, strengthen my technical skills, and gain confidence in delivering data-driven solutions that create real impact.
Where do you imagine yourself five years from now?
Five years from now, I see myself in a leadership role within data and analytics, helping organizations make better decisions through data-driven insights and innovative solutions. I hope to continue growing both technically and strategically, leading impactful projects, mentoring others, and working at the intersection of analytics, technology, and business. Beyond my career, I also hope to have built a strong foundation for my family and to continue learning and contributing to the communities that have supported my growth along the way.
As an international student, the journey came with unique challenges and opportunities. Ultimately it became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
