Your Husky Card can do a lot more than grant you access to the library, your dorm room or a dining hall. In fact, it’s a passport to great deals and freebies around Boston. Here’s a list of ways to take advantage of your student ID.

Movies: The AMC Loews Boston Common theater offers discounted tickets to students every Thursday, while the Regal Fenway Stadium 13, the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square and the Kendall Square Cinema provide cut-rate student tickets on a daily basis. Students can also get a discounted membership to the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline and watch films at the Museum of Fine Arts for the same price as members.

Museums: Admission to the Museum of Fine Arts Boston is free to Northeastern undergraduates with a valid Husky Card. The recently expanded Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, in the Fenway, offers students admission for $5. Admission to the Institute of Contemporary Art is $10, with free admission every Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Theatre and Performances: For $25, students can purchase a Boston Symphony Orchestra College Card, which includes free day-of tickets to Symphony Hall performances. Rush tickets to Boston Ballet performances (not including the Nutcracker) can be purchased for $20 cash at the Wang Center Box Office two hours before a performance. Student tickets to the Improv Asylum in the North End cost $10 on both Wednesdays and Sundays and $15 on both Thursdays and Fridays. Tickets to any Huntington Theatre performance are $30 for anyone 35 and younger.

Shopping: Showing your Husky Card is the ticket to getting 10 percent off purchases from City Sports, 15 percent off from both J. Crew and Banana Republic and 20 percent off from Club Monaco. If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, J.P. Licks in Brigham Circle gives Husky Card-carrying Northeastern students a 10 percent discount. For the tech-savvy, the Apple Store gives students and professors discounts on hardware and software in store and online.

Travel: Student Universe and STA Travel provide discount airfare and accommodations for students looking to travel within the United States or to select destinations around the world.
