Provide 3 words that encapsulate your Northeastern University experience:

Resilience. Growth. Purpose.

Where are you from or where do you consider home?

I was born and raised in Mumbai, India, but I now proudly call Boston my home.

What has your journey at Northeastern University revealed to you about yourself?

My journey at Northeastern University has revealed my capacity for growth, adaptability, and purpose-driven learning. Transitioning from a career in pharmaceutical marketing to regulatory affairs was a bold and critical shift — one that challenged me to reframe my understanding of the life sciences industry from a commercial to a compliance and patient-safety lens. Through academic projects, industry exposure, and collaborative learning, I discovered a deep-rooted passion for regulatory science — not just as a field of study, but as a way to ensure that safe, effective, and high-quality products reach those who need them most. This experience has reinforced that I’m not afraid to step outside my comfort zone to pursue what truly matters to me — making a meaningful impact on global health and human lives.

What motivated you to continue through challenging times in obtaining your degree?

Even after undergoing major cardiothoracic surgery, I stayed committed to my goals—driven by a deep passion for regulatory affairs and the desire to make a meaningful impact on patient lives. The unwavering support of my husband, family, and friends who became my family away from home gave me strength. That phase not only tested me but also transformed me, reinforcing my resilience and sense of purpose.

Experiential learning is a core component of a Northeastern education. Describe some of the highlights for you.

“Absolutely! Here’s a more concise version with brevity:

Northeastern’s experiential learning allowed me to work on real regulatory submissions like Pre-IND and CTD modules, deepening my understanding of global compliance. The ChIPs Hackathon and volunteering with Vibha Foundation connected my classroom learning to real-world health challenges and social impact—shaping both my skills and sense of purpose in the regulatory field.”

Where do you imagine yourself five years from now?

In five years, I envision contributing to the USA FDA, with a focus on patient safety and wellness within the cosmetics division. My objective is to advance regulatory efforts that ensure cosmetics are not only safe but also inclusive, promoting confidence across all demographics. I aim to support the FDA’s mission to safeguard public health by ensuring product safety, accurate labeling, regulatory compliance, and fostering innovation to create more effective and empowering cosmetic products for consumers.
