Balancing life and school is hard. How have you managed to navigate those challenges?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating life as an outsider. Pursuing my dreams and passions brought me to a new city, Boston, but adapting and living alone in a foreign place posed significant challenges.
It may sound cliché, but I was able to overcome these hurdles with the help of my family, friends, professors, and advisors. Sharing my struggles and seeking support from others reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this journey. Through their guidance and encouragement, I realized that I am also a part of the Northeastern community. We can overcome any obstacle together.
What has your journey at Northeastern taught you about yourself?
“The sky is the limit.”
When I realized I was in this program, I had to create a Northeastern account and set a password. At that moment, I chose to include this sentence in my password. It was a reminder of my initial determination that there are no limits to what I can achieve. It could also be considered as momentum.
I’ve always had a desire to live a life of freedom, and true freedom, I believe, comes from embracing curiosity, fearlessly facing the unknown, and adopting an attitude of continuous learning. Setting a small milestone for myself in this journey feels empowering, and I look forward to continuing to enjoy a life of freedom.
Any advice for prospective students?
Go for it. Follow your heart.
When making decisions, many people often consider the opportunity costs and benefits. Of course, you might feel concerned about risk-taking. Always choose carefully.
However, only those who have achieved their goals can truly answer whether the sacrifices and efforts were worth it. I hope you become someone who can say to yourself and others facing similar dilemmas that pursuing what you truly desire is worth it.
Why did you choose Northeastern?
I found this program to be a perfect fit as it’s composed of diverse and professional courses. With my diverse background in International Studies, STEM, Economics, BA, Marketing, Branding, Music Production, Sports, and Media, I saw this program as a bridge between these areas and leading to the next phase of my career.
True to my expectations, I was able to take diverse and specialized classes and gain hands-on experience collaborating with real companies.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I want to help people. I want to share my own perspective with others.
Professionally speaking, I could also be called a full-stack marketer, someone who has knowledge and experience in all aspects of marketing, from social media and video, SEO, to user experience and content.
As I’ve worked with various startups and businesses, I’ve come to desire to start my own business where I can pour all my passion into it. I hope it goes beyond just a means of making money and leaves a mark on the world by conveying what I want to say. If I were to be a bit more specific, it’s expected to take the form of a label for musicians and artists, as well as a country club for thought leaders.
Beyond academics and work, what other passions do you have?
I want to go to Chile. I want to explore the Inca civilization, volcanoes, deserts, and even Patagonia, where you can see the Antarctic. Adventures to new places hold great significance in my life.
Music, sports, travel, movies, novels, animals, and nature are all important to me. People like John Mayer, LeBron James, and Robert Downey Jr. are my rock stars.
Above all, I love spending quiet time with loved ones. If I can quietly listen to the clouds, sunset, stars, waves, wind, and the sound of my heart, then I can truly discover who I am.
