Please refer to the following information as you prepare to submit your application requirements.

Qualifications for Official Academic Documents: 

U.S. Transcripts must be submitted through one of the following channels: 

Foreign Transcripts must include original English translation and be mailed from institution in a stamped and sealed envelope or emailed through Parchment Exchange, National Student Clearinghouse, Docufide, Parchment Send, Escrip-Safe, etc.

Online Transcript Submission: To submit and complete your application you are able to upload your unofficial transcript directly to your online application. It can be uploaded in PDF format directly to the online application. Please ensure that the scanned documents are readable and include all courses, grades, (i.e. marks, scores, etc.) and credits completed to date. The scanned documents should also include information pertaining to the institution’s grading scale. If admitted, you will need to provide your official transcript. In order for a transcript to be “official,” it must be in a sealed envelope from the transferring college or university.

*Please note: The estimated total tuition is based on tuition rates for the current Academic Year and does not include any fees or other expenses. Some courses and labs have tuition rates that may increase or decrease total tuition. Tuition and fees are subject to revision by the president and Board of Trustees at any time.

Supporting Documents

You may submit supporting documents by mail or online. To mail your documents, view the “Methods to Submit Your Documents” section below.

Enrolling Student Requirement to Complete Admissions File
Enrolling graduate and professional program students are required to submit to Northeastern University (NU) their official transcripts including evidence of the completion of the bachelor’s degree and the date of degree conferral within 30 days from the start of their first academic term. Students must also comply with any additional requirements and instructions specified by their NU college of acceptance to complete their official admissions record. Also note that the university catalog states the following:

Conditional Admission
A student who has not provided required documentation for admission by the due date for final grades for the student’s first academic term will not be permitted to register for a future term.

Important: Reference Your Applicant ID (or AYID)

Please note for Fall 2023 applicants applying through Slate, you will not have an applicant ID (or AYID). Skip this instruction and scroll down to Methods to Submit Your Documents.

For any below method that you choose, reference your Applicant ID on your request, if possible. An Applicant ID is a 7-digit number and unique identifier, which NU uses to match your documents to your official admissions record. If you have more than one Applicant ID, use the one that is associated with the College/Degree/Program to which you plan to pursue. Your Applicant ID may have been emailed to you. If you do not know it, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your application (ApplyYourself) account
  2. Click EDIT APPLICATION
  3. Your Application ID will appear towards the top of any introductory language or content, and/or can be referenced on the left-hand side of screen menu, under the Important Links section where you will see, Check Your Application ID XXXXXXX (where X will be your 7-digit unique ID)

Method 1: Previous Institution(s) Mail to NU P.O. Box U.S. Address

Note: Fall 2023 applicants can disregard Applicant ID

If your previously attended college or university allows for requests where documents can be mailed for receipt to a NU, P.O. Box address, you may make such arrangements according to their instructions. Note that typically only institutions located in the United States allow for mailing to a P.O. Box address in the U.S. Important: If your previous institution allows you to add notes or instructions to your request, include a reference to your unique 7-digit Applicant ID (e.g. Applicant ID: XXXXXX); see above for instructions to locate your Applicant ID. Use the following for the mailing address:

Method 2: Student Mails Documents to NU P.O. Box U.S. Address

Note: Fall 2023 applicants can disregard Applicant ID

If you have in your personal possession (or can obtain for your personal possession) one or more sealed, unopened package(s) or envelope(s) containing your official, complete, final documents, then you may carry them with you and arrange to mail said package(s) or envelope(s) from within the United States for receipt to a NU, P.O. Box address. If you have more than one package or envelope, it is preferred that you put all such items into one larger package or envelope that contains all of your packages, envelopes, or documents for mailing purposes. Important: On your unopened package(s) or envelope(s) write or include a reference to your unique 7-digit Applicant ID (e.g. Applicant ID: XXXXXX); see above for instructions to locate your Applicant ID. Use the following for the mailing address:

If your previously attended college or university allows for requests where documents can be mailed for receipt to a NU, Boston, Massachusetts address, you may make such arrangements according to their instructions. Important: If your previous institution allows you to add notes or instructions to your request, include a reference to your unique 7-digit Applicant ID (e.g. Applicant ID: XXXXXX); see above for instructions to locate your Applicant ID. Use the following for the mailing address:

If you have in your personal possession (or can obtain for your personal possession) one or more sealed, unopened package(s) or envelope(s) containing your official, complete, final documents, then you may arrange to mail said package(s) or envelope(s) to a NU, Boston, Massachusetts address. If you have more than one package or envelope, it is preferred that you put all such items into one larger package or envelope that contains all of your packages, envelopes, or documents for mailing. Important: On your unopened package(s) or envelope(s) write or include a reference to your unique 7-digit Applicant ID (e.g. Applicant ID: XXXXXX); see above for instructions to locate your Applicant ID.
